Shirt: Forever 21 | Scarf, Shoes & Leggings: Target
This wasn’t my cutest outfit this week, however, I liked it because I woke up with almost no time to get ready, and still felt pretty successful on pulling together this casual Monday look.
I’d just like to point out that I have a slight tan going on. Which was pretty much why I chose this outfit for my sunny outdoor adventure in Boulder. Success.
My Wish for the Week: A trip to Vancouver
A few years ago, while I was on my way home from the airport, I got into a conversation with a guy from Vancouver who tried to convince me that his island was better than my state of Colorado. Full disclosure: this guy was also kind beautiful… but my swooning is beside the point:) Ever since then, it’s been at the top of my list of places I still want to see.
Weekly Wish: Learn Another Language
I know that growing up in America has been such a privilege, I promise I know that. However, I can’t help but be amazed by people from other countries who grew up speaking multiple languages and are now bi- or trilingual (or more!). Not only is knowing another language a great skill, I also think it comes down to a very simple appreciation of the world, the people in it, and the way we all communicate. And there is something so sweet about that. My personal top picks would be to learn French or Chinese…Spanish and I don’t stand a chance. If only I could roll my R’s.
While I truly believe that there is always room for improvement, I also believe more. than. anything. that in order to be happy, you have to get yourself to a place where you can see how amazing your life is, flaws and all. You may not have it all at once, and you may always be missing something. But, please, please, don’t forget to stop and stare and be in love with your life. After all, you only get one.
This week has not so subtly reminded me that no matter how how much I prepare for every outcome, there will still be times when I get the rug pulled out from under me. And I’ll be honest, I’d rather crawl under my covers and hibernate for the next week than make lemonade and all that jazz… but I have to believe that I am where I need to be. Somehow this challenge is getting me where I need to go. Deep breath, get up, start moving. I can do this.
I could write so many words about my long weekend in Boston. So many words about how beautiful the city is–the city that I used to call home. So many words about how incredible it was to reunite with college friends. So many words about how much I appreciated my time, because I know how unlikely it is that we will all be in the same place at the same time again. But, instead, I’ll let the photos do the talking. Because my words wouldn’t do any of it justice.
BRB while we have way too much fun chatting, walking and eating our way through Boston 🙂
